Split is a fascinating mediterranean town with a 1700 year old tradition well known for its variety of archaeological, historical and cultural monuments among which includes the Palace of Diocletian, inscribed into the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The famous town of Trogir is itself a living museum. The old core was developed on the small island between the 13th and 15th centuries within the city walls and was reconstructed by Venice in the 15th century. This has also been inscribed into the UNESCO World Heritage List.
